investments and great ideas are everywhere. Yet only a few
investors have success spotting them. This is because the
key to good investing is successful information processing. Too
many investors just look at numbers hoping to find profits
and success. The few good investors look at life instead. I
suspect that years ago
Warren Buffet for example started thinking about investing in
Dairy Queen while he was eating ice cream and Gillette while
shaving rather than because he read some balance sheet or investment
report.
These successful investors cross train in their
thinking. Cross training simply means including a variety
of activities to
process information. Successful investors study every aspect
of the universe, not just accounts and financial reports. So I am sending a message about the Solstice,
when nature gives us an incredibly powerful message about
cross training and investing.
The message is that "every problem contains the seeds
of its solution". We can see this fact so clearly on this
shortest day. It's the beginning of the coldest, most hostile
season....but is also the moment when the days grow longer.
Tomorrow the light at the end of the tunnel will be seen a
little more. You can cross train your mind in many ways including yoga.
